AFI Launches Cinematography Workshop for Women In Film

LOS ANGELES, CA (CelebrityAccess) – The American Film Institute is launching a four-day cinematography workshop aimed at women in filmmaking.

Dubbed the AFI Cinematography Introductory Intensive for Women, the program is being sponsored by 21st Century Fox and will be held Aug. 3-6 at the institute’s Hollywood campus.

The tuition-free program, which will be led by members of the AFI’s cinematography faculty as well as a number of guests, will include production workshops, a variety of discussions, as well as screenings of the work of pioneering female cinematographers.

The American Society of Cinematographers will also support the program through its ASC Vision Committee, which is dedicated to the advancement of underrepresented cinematographers and their crews, regardless of race, gender or age.
