Industry Vets Launch Rival Entertainment

(CelebrityAccess News Service) – Music and hospitality veterans Lucy Lawler, Josh Antenucci, Tom Cook and Brandon Mize have launched Rival Entertainment, LLC, a full service company, consisting of subsidiary companies Rival Concerts and Rival Productions. Rival Entertainment will provide talent buying, event promotion and production for independently owned/operated venues, colleges and universities and special events planners.

Rival Entertainment partner / senior talent buyer Lawler will head the Rival concerts division and lead the company's venue booking efforts. Prior to forming Rival Entertainment, Lawler spent three years as talent buyer for Los Angeles-based House of Blues Concerts and five years as talent buyer for Clear Channel Entertainment's Atlanta offices. Lawler will be responsible for purchasing talent for major contracts and special events.

"We can do venues from 300 capacity to 10,000," Lawler told CelebrityAccess. "We can go into any independent venue. We will be doing concert promotion, buy/sells for already established venues, oversee promotions for some venues, special events, live broadcasts/video and production services."

Mize, a talent buyer in the concerts division will lead the company's college and university initiatives, as well as support Lawler's efforts servicing major contracts. Mize spent 2003 as the talent buyer for Atlanta-based Earthlink Live Music Complex, where he quickly established the new venue, Vinyl, as a venerable attraction in Atlanta's-local nightlife scene.

Rival Entertainment's senior partner Josh Antenucci heads up Rival's productions division, providing technical production and logistical planning support to independent event promoters and planners, including clients of Rival Concerts. Prior to forming Rival Entertainment, Antenucci founded Washington D.C.-based Event Concepts, Inc., where he produced events and festivals for independent promoters and collegiate and political clientele. Antenucci will oversee operations for Rival Entertainment and its subsidiaries.

Cook, as Rival Entertainment CEO / senior partner, will lead the company's business development and new media projects. An Atlanta restaurant owner, real estate developer and owner of the Earthlink Live Music Complex, Cook brings six years of strategic business savvy and entrepreneurial skills to Rival Entertainment.

"The opportunity to join together with such talented and experienced colleagues promises great potential for the clientele with whom we work, " said Lawler. "Rival Entertainment's fundamental commitment to engage our clients with higher profile artists and to create and execute more concise marketing campaigns will demonstrate our ability to make the best use of our collective talents. We are already building new business relationships and alliances throughout the East coast and expect the industry to take quick notice not only of these ventures, but of the quality of service we provide them." –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
